Simple, elegant and comfortable, the historic Bright Morning Inn Bed and Breakfast in Davis, WV is your gateway to some of the most unspoiled scenic areas in West Virginia: Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, Dolly Sods, Otter Creek, Spruce Knob, and Seneca Rocks. With private baths in every room, and full country breakfasts daily, we welcome families, small children and even well behaved pets! At night, restaurants and shops within walking distance offer food and entertainment. In the morning, rent a bike from Blackwater Bike Shop next door, or let us provide you with guidebooks, maps and personalized trip planning.

Great Food
The Bright Morning Inn's restaurant is open to the public and serves a full country breakfast daily -- including an array of regional country food and healthy food, too. Offerings include three signature omelets, huevos rancheros, biscuit and sausage gravy, and fluffy pancakes see breakfast menu. For lighter appetites we offer granola with milk or yogurt or oatmeal with fruit and nut toppings. Whatever your taste or appetite, you will be well fortified for the day's adventure!

June Happenings
Late spring in Canaan and Blackwater Falls is lush and beautiful: a time for morning birdwalks and cool afternoon hikes. It's an important month for wildlife enthusiasts. June 5-7 is the Third Annual Southern Boreal Bird Festival in Canaan Valley State Park, featuring programs and events for bird lovers. Other weekends this month the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge offers programs on breeding birds (13th), snapping turtles (19th) and native trout (20th). In June the woods are still fresh with early green, as tender ferns blanket the ground beneath the trees. In town we enjoy daily hikes out the Camp 70 road, which leads to the wild and remote northern end of the refuge. June is an active season on top of the mountain -- don't miss it!

About the Area
Less than a mile from Blackwater Falls State Park, the Inn is only nine miles from Canaan Valley, Timberline and White Grass ski resorts and well-located for day trips to nearby wilderness areas. The 800,000 acres of Monongahela National Forest that surround the inn are a naturalist's dream. The Potomac Highland region's high altitude and scenic beauty are a Mecca for hiking, mountain biking, whitewater sports, cross country and downhill skiing, rock climbing, caving, hunting and trout fishing. Winter finds the area blanketed with 150-200 inches of natural snowfall annually. And our cool summers (2001 high temperature was only 84!) are a welcome relief from sweltering cities.
